HELM TO HEART

Ten years ago, at a pivotal moment in my journey, I found myself standing at the intersection of despair and destiny. The world’s spotlight was unrelenting, with viral headlines declaring: “Meet Africa’s First Female Dredge Master.” Faced with the pressure to have life neatly figured out, I found myself swallowed in the noise, struggling to discover my true identity under the public spotlight and numerous recognitions.

The accolades were many, but inside, I was quietly searching for something far more personal, my true identity.

What I’ve come to learn is that you can never out-pose your true calling, it will find you, pursue you, and eventually, it will win. So instead of resisting, I leaned into the things that lit my soul: storytelling, building from gaps, and empowering others.

That intentional shift became my liberation. I stepped away from navigating over 50,000 Gross Tonnage vessels as an Unlimited Ship Navigator and allowed myself to evolve into the woman I was becoming.

Today, I am a globally recognized speaker, a conscious business leader, and a present mentor. I no longer stand by titles and accolades but by alignment, with joy, with truth, and with individuals whose journeys align with mine. Purpose, as it turns out, pays very well, it’s rich not only in impact but also in peace and fulfilment.

My mission now is simple, but bold: to help others Claim Their Captaincy. Because I have figured that nothing in life is hard, all you need is someone who sees beyond your fears, reminds you of your power, and helps you figure things out, layer by layer, truth by truth.
